Anxiety Therapy

Anxiety is a feeling of dread or fear. Maybe it is a worry, and uneasiness, or internal pressure. This is a normal emotion in our human repertoire of emotional experience. It alerts us to danger, protects us when making decisions about our future, and can ignite the protective mechanism of fight/flight/fear when danger is near.

It can sometimes get in the way of experiencing joy, peace, ease, and connection with the people we love. In more extreme cases, when this healthy emotion becomes the primary emotion in our system, it can turn into obsessive compulsive behavior, panic attacks, anxiety attacks, generalized anxiety, and other anxious behaviors of avoidance, relationship distress, etc. Therapy can be a helpful tool in managing the behaviors that get in the way of living the rest of life and understanding the underlying causes.
