Individual Therapy

Asking for help is hard, especially in our culture that still stigmatizes mental health. Mental health is just as important as our physical health, and it plays a large role in the state of our physical health. The ACEs research study gave us the evidence we needed as a culture to start understanding that our physical and mental health are intrinsically intertwined. In other words, the mind-body connection is undeniable. When we are affected by internal or external experience (trauma, relationships, grief and loss, medical diagnosis or interventions, life transitions), our mental health can be stretched beyond its capacity. When this happens, we have medical terminology to describe those symptoms - anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc. Individual therapy - sometimes in conjunction with medication management - has been proven to be effective in restoring and healing those wounds.

In addition to those medical reasons mentioned above, therapy is also very effective at helping to heal and protect relationships, aid self discovery and personal development, is a wellness practice that prevents our mental health from becoming stretched beyond its capacity, and much much more.

Here at The Journey Center, all of our therapists work with individuals to help heal trauma, depression, anxiety, and a host of other mental health struggles. We also work with relationships, family systems, and cultural systems to help heal and progress the wellness of our community, starting with one person at a time.

Our experience has shown us that when one person in a system is changed, the whole system changes too. We are here to support your individual change, when
