Adult Individual Therapist

LPC/MHSP, MA in Clinical Mental Health from ETSU, EMDR trained

Treatment Focus: Autism, ADHD, and neurodivergence; overwhelmed parents and caregivers; life transitions; chronic illness; anxiety

The core of my practice is the understanding that much of human suffering stems from disconnection- from ourselves, our bodies, our communities, our loved ones, or even our values and passions. Much of therapy is about finding ways to reconnect and regulate.

I am a neurodiversity affirming therapist, which means I do not see Autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergent experiences as something to be "fixed," I see them as something to be explored, accepted, and affirmed. My own experience as a neurodivergent person has been invaluable in guiding my understanding. I am also passionate about my work with overwhelmed parents and caregivers, those with chronic health conditions, and people navigating their way through various life transitions.

Overall, my therapeutic approach is strengths and values based, and my practice focuses on validating my clients. It is very important to me that my clients feel safe- I am trauma focused and LGBTQ affirming. Some of the therapeutic modalities I use include internal family systems (IFS), narrative therapy, emotion focused therapy (EFT), mindfulness, as well as other modalities. More importantly than the specific modalities is figuring out what works best for you!

I have a Masters degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, both from East Tennessee State University. As a counselor, I have worked in community mental health, in-home intensive therapy, a substance use intensive outpatient program, crisis work, and a pediatric therapy clinic. I like to spend time connecting with my spouse, son, and our cats.
